The Perfect Summer Makeup

Summer is back again and you want to stay in style. What makeup trends are a MUST?  Follow these easy 5 steps and you will look your best all summer!

Bye Bye Oily Skin!

We tend to get oily around the summer time because of the heat so our bodies are producing more oils on the surface of our skin. I take care of this by using Bosica Green Tea Blotting Linens. They are transparent little papers that soak up all the oil from your face leaving it free of any oil. It has nice packaging and easy to carry around when your on the go. I purchase mine from Sephora and it is only $10!

I love these blotting linens. Sometimes, before your take a picture, it comes in handy to take off all that excess shine so you don’t look too shiny and sweaty on a photo. Also, you don’t have to carry around your powder to touch up your makeup!

Orange Lipstick is IN!

Everyone is wearing it, and everyone looks good in it! Why? Because there are so many shades of orange that at least one of those shades will suit you. My shade is more of a coral orange and it’s from Makeup Forever #39 Satin Orange Coral ($20). It’s not too intense and not too soft. It makes my lips pop just enough to complete my look.  What is great about orange lipsticks is that you can wear it with an all natural look or with an all glam look.

Depending on your skin shade or type of makeup you have on (dramatic or natural), you can pull off any shade of orange. It looks so trendy and fashionable!

Less is More!

This summer, you don’t have to worry about not having every little product on your face. If you don’t need it then don’t apply it. This summer it’s all about being natural and having a bare face. Natural beauty is “in” everyone! You can touch up where foundation is needed or concealer or even a tinted moisturizer will do, maybe add a bit of mascara on your lashes to make them noticeable ( no spidery lashes though), touch up your brows where it’s needed, and you can call it a day. It will save you time and you will see how you can enhance your flaws without really hiding it!

On the left side I don’t have any makeup on. On the right side I added foundation on areas that were red like around my nose, chin, and certain areas of my cheeks. I used Anastasia Beverly Hills eyebrow pencil to fill in certain areas of my brows and added my favorite mascara (Benefit They’re Real Mascara –$23) on my top and bottom lashes. I love this mascara, IT DOES NOT CLUMP and gives you nice smooth long eyelashes.

Golden Goddess

Golden bronzers are definitely a must have for this summer! Yes! I have always been a fan of that golden glow since I saw that Dior perfume ad with Charlize Theron. That just screams summer beachy perfection!  If you want to get a more dewy finish but you don’t have a cream bronzer, you can mix in your favorite lotion to your bronzing powder and apply it around your face where its needed. A few top bronzers are Sonia Kashuk cream bronzer ($10) , Benefit Hoola Bronzer ($28) , Physicians Formula Bronze Booster ($15), Physicians Formula Sunset Strip Bronzer ($13), and Georgio Armani Bronzed All Over Palette ($88)

I used the Bronze Booster first to add a little bit of warmth to my cheekbones then I went in with my sunset palette and added it right above my cheekbones so when the light hits my cheeks, it reflects back and gives off a dewy look.

Colored Eye Shadows and Liners

Color is in this summer. Everyone is color blocking so if you’re lacking color in your wardrobe — it’s ok because you can add that with your liners! This summer it is all about the eyes. Everyone is wearing intense colors like red, purple, blue, and teil and they all look fabulous! Many are scared because they aren’t use to such intense colors but after a few wears you will be addicted! Buying a palette that has a variety of colors is great because you can pick and choose what shades work best for your skin tone.

I used Maybelline color tattoo in edgy emerald on my eye and I love this color because it is sooo pretty and fun! You can use these color tattoos as an eye shadow base to make your eye shadow colors more intense and long lasting or you can do what I did and just wear it on its own!

I love using Urban Decays liquid liners. They come in a variety of colors and they’re waterproof and have very intense colors that actually pop out. So you don’t have to add any shadow or base, just add the liner and you’re good to go!
